Future Warriors, NBA Stars to Be Showcased at Chase Center’s California Classic

Did you go to the Warriors’ championship parade?

An estimated 800,000 fans jammed Market Street on June 20 to celebrate Golden State’s fourth NBA Finals victory in eight years. It was a wild scene.

Warriors players and coaches jumped off their buses to high-five their fans, sprayed champagne on the crowd and had an all-around great time. The fans had an equally fun experience, and at one point thousands of them surrounded and escorted Klay Thompson’s bus to the end of the parade route.

If you’re a die-hard fan now suffering from Dubs’ withdrawal, there might be a little relief for you this holiday weekend. The team on July 2, 3 and 5 will host the 4th Annual California Classic at Chase Center to showcase its young talent in exhibition games against youngsters from the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings and Miami Heat.

The summer showcase features 2022 NBA Draft picks, second-year pros and other players looking to land a spot on NBA rosters next season. Among those eligible to play for the Warriors are newly crowned champions Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, as well as Patrick Baldwin Jr., Ryan Rollins and Gui Santos, the three players Golden State tabbed from the June 23 NBA Draft.

Single-day passes start at $35 for the July 2 and 3 games. Tickets are not available for the July 5 closing day, but the games will be broadcast live on NBA TV. The game schedule is listed below.

Before each game, fans can partake in multiple activities at Thrive City, Chase Center’s outdoor space. There will be an outdoor basketball court, classic low riders on display, a kid zone, live performances and more.

On July 2, a dance clinic will be held  to teach a routine from the Warriors Dance Team and Hardwood Classics. All individuals ages 5 and up are encouraged to join.
